I know you included tech saviorism as something we need to transcend for orange, and of course the whole post is about green’s righteous moral battles… but isn’t that sort of a blue quality?

I’ve seen a TON of self righteous Yellow thinkers too. What’s more self righteous than callling yourself Tier 2 and saying that the previous memes are “less adequate.”

YOU’RE not one of those people, let me be clear. Your take seems to be that we should actually INCLUDE what we transcend. But we have to admit, many of our colleagues want to condescend and exclude.

My theory as that all of that self righteousness and tribal behavior is either poorly integrated Blue, or people who are at the Blue meme but who are able to weaponize the language of other memes (especially Green).

After all, being able to ace a quiz on Green catchphrases doesn’t actually mean you want to be inclusive. It could be rote rather than integrated.

Or, again, the mean Green meme that so many second tier thinkers become preoccupied with… that could be a shadow of repressed Blue tribalism that is exploding into the world in harmful ways because it isn’t embraced for its positive, integrate-able, inclusion-worthy qualities.

Perhaps both by the Yellow metamodern elitist thinkers (again not you) who exhibit a team sport condescension to tier 1, AND the mean Greens. Maybe they both—maybe we ALL—have neglected Blue children in us tantruming because we aren’t listening to their valid input about social conformity.

Well, I read somewhere that Green can have the shadow of Blue, and that makes sense to me. Green creates its own dogmas, and you had better not cross them.

Example, two statements:

A. "It's wonderful that women are now able to do so many things that were once relegated only to men. At the same time, women have certain qualities and strengths that are special to them."

B. "It's wonderful that men are now able to do so many things that were once relegated only to women. At the same time, men have certain qualities and strengths that are special to them."

I have been testing this out on a lot of people, and they react positively to (A), and feel weird about (B) [I feel it too — but I wonder why..]. I am particularly interested in the "unique qualities" part. — I am pretty sure that the reason we feel weird about (B) has to do with what I could call an "invisible Green force field" of doctrine that tells us how we should think, and is inured to its own existence.

I can offer many more examples.

— Anyway, while Green certainly wants to do away with dogma, it creates its own. I can testify this as a lifelong Berkeley kid.

As per self-righteous Yellow thinkers, I don't know. I have gone on a Reddit forum about SD, and a FaceBook forum, and in both there were squabbles between people about how superior or inferior each of them was. It was a mess, and one did not even want to get involved!

All I can say is, spiritual practice helps a lot! Yes — humility, curiosity, and open-heartedness are central qualities.

This Perplexity search spells it out well, per how I am thinking about it: https://www.perplexity.ai/search/in-spiral-dynamics-blue-is-see-t65.SEaVQK6EIpIxv7Q5AQ#0

Does this person (Cult College) actually have any relevant credentials? They're clearly trying to present themselves as an authority on cults, but they don't have credentials listed anywhere. They make a lot of claims and don't provide any sources as far as I can tell. These are red flags and I've noticed a lot of newer creators cosplaying as academics. As a lefty, it's tempting to ignore this since I align with a lot of her takes, but as a STEM student, evidence matters, and I'd like to know if she has any qualifications (like a degree in psych/sociol, or something else relevant). If she doesn't, it's fine to share opinions and thoughts, but she needs to be transparent about that, otherwise it's dishonest and insulting to the real experts who actually earned the clout.

You might want to compare her views with Daniella Mestyanek, who goes by the handle of Knitting Cult Lady on TikTok, YouTube and several other sites. While I've found similarities, I would recommend that anyone who is interested make their own comparisons. Parkrose Permaculture and Amanda Nelson are a couple of others who have spoken about similar ideas in the past. Amanda is here on Substack.

I can’t find anything about her, and while I’d like to believe I’m hesitant of those who use filters to alter their appearance and don’t list their qualifications.
